Dress Up Pet Hat Day

Let’s have a little fun with some bizarre January “holidays” which we can turn into Resident Events, shall we?  According to www.holidayinsights.com, January 14th is “Dress up Your Pet Day” and January 15th is “National Hat Day”.  These are two back to back days which you can encourage your residents to participate in and share in the fun! If you really want to get creative and put some effort into it, set up a makeshift photo booth in your office or clubhouse so when your dressed up resident pets and/or your residents come in in their hats, you can take advantage of the photo opportunity!

You don’t have to go crazy with the photo booth, just find a flat wall with some open space in front of it and hang either a fun sheet or even wrapping paper with a fun pattern! Try to ensure there is ample lighting, and then the fun will happen on its own!

Dress Up Your Pet Day on January 14th is a great day for you to ask your residents to bring their furry friend(s) in wearing their best outfits! Encourage them to stop in during your normal business hours to show off their pet’s outfits and take photos!

National Hat Day on January 15th is also an opportunity for your residents to come in wearing their favorite hats for photo opportunities! Those who don’t have pets will appreciate the ability to participate as well as kids of all ages!

You should use these photo opportunities to create albums on your social media page for your property, but make sure you get permission to share them first. This will allow you to show how much fun you have at your community and all of the great resident participation you have! This is another low-cost event idea that you don’t really have to do much for except get some flyers and e-blasts out and encourage the participation. Remember the photo booth is just an option so if you want to skip it entirely this would be an event that has absolutely no cost to your property but everyone will have a ton of fun!
