Comedy Date Night Hot

Comedy Date Night

The first Sunday of May is World Laughter Day. Laughter comes in many forms and has many surprising life and health benefits.  Created in 1998 by Dr. Madan Kataria, World Laughter Day has become an uber popular trend across the globe. Help your residents celebrate, unwind and de-stress by treating them to a fun, comedy filled night in the club house!

Hiring Features and a Headliner to perform for your residents can be easy and inexpensive if you do your research beforehand and stick to your budget.  Features are the up-and-comers in the Comedy world, and these Comics start the show in order to rile up the crowd for the Headliner. Headliners, on the other hand, are the more well known and popular comics, the main attraction. You should expect to pay more for the Headliner than the Features. This easy to navigate website will lead you straight to local Comedians in your area and allow you to request a free rate quote.

The first step in hiring a Comedian is to research and decide which comedic genres you feel would be best received by your residents. You are likely to have a very diverse group of residents so Blue Comics, and any Comics who regularly joke about racism, sexism, homophobia, etc., and use excessive profanity, may be best to be avoided. You will be able to talk to the Comics and ask them questions about their comedic styles so be sure to double check that they will be willing to keep it clean for your residents. I highly recommend Improv Comics, myself!

You can help keep your event costs down by selling tickets to your residents to help cover the Comedians’ rates, or you can even turn this into a charity event by charging a non-perishable food donation at the door for your local food pantry! Either way, your residents will be sure to walk away with a chuckle and lifted spirits!
