Princess Tea Party for girls
This time of the year is a perfect time to give the little girls on your property a chance to pull out their pretty Easter dresses once again and come out for a community tea party with their little neighbors. What little girl wouldn't marvel over the opportunity to come out and drink sparkling pink raspberry tea along with cute little finger foods. We love to add as much value as possible to our events so we like to throw in a few simple life lessons like how to greet new people and how to be a loyal friend. Whether you opt to give a valuable lesson or not crank on some fun music, throw in a few games, some art projects, party favors (tiaras are always a hit) and a beautiful backdrop for pictures and you're sure to bring plenty of smiles to your residents faces. Pretend Sleep-Over
This party is a dream come true for any young child who longs to be old enough to have a sleep-over! Guests arrive in their pajamas, take part in a round of fun bedtime activities, and enjoy a bedtime snack before heading home for a good night's rest in their own beds. Musical Sleeping Bags: Have every child bring a sleeping bag or blanket. Set up everyone's rolled-up sleeping bag or blanket in a circle on the floor and play a lullaby. Have the kids walk around the circle carrying their stuffed animals. Remove one of the sleeping bags or blankets and explain that when you stop the music, everyone must quickly snuggle with their pet on one of the pallets. Whoever can't find one is out of the game, but he or she can remove the next pallet when the game resumes. Continue in this manner, allowing...

Trunk or Treat
This event was suggested by a resident to get us away from the same old door to door trick or treating. Designate a section of the parking lot to hold the event. Have volunteer residents decorate their trunks and provide candy for the actual trunk or treating part. Host games such as bobbing for apples, ring toss, corn hole, etc. We have ZERO budget for this event so we've asked our residents to donate candy, prizes, and decorations. It's already a success!

Our community is 3 story and this can be challenging for those who wish to participate in trick or treating and even more so for the kids the parents who have to climb all those stairs, in all those buildings. So we are doing a 5 to 8 time frame and doing it tailgate style. As the kids come by the club house we will be taking pictures and placing their names in for a toys r us drawing.

Resident Birthdays, What do you do?
Resident Birthday Celebrations: What does your community do for them? Do you send out a card or a Happy Birthday from Facebook? Have any of you thought of having a random birthday party winner every month? I was visiting a social networking site recently and a girl asked for birthday present ideas for her boyfriend. One gentleman replied “the older I get the more I just want someone to acknowledge that it is my birthday.” I think there comes a time when we all feel that way. We have been rolling this idea of a birthday club drawing where residents can submit their names to be in the club. Then, once a month, one lucky resident will receive a birthday party from the community for their birthday. If not a randomly chosen party, maybe have some criteria that the...
